Beyond Rainbows & Parades: Building a Safe Culture for LGBT Employees All Year Round

During the month of June, the LGBT+ community in the U.S. celebrates the great strides made in securing equal rights under the law. But today, the rights of LGBT people are under attack in a wide range of areas, and many in the community feel uncomfortable, or even unsafe being their authentic selves at work. Employment discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation has grown in recent years, leading to a significant employment gap between LGBT employees and the workforce as a whole. During this session, a panel of LGBT professionals will discuss specific, actionable ways in which employers can create a safe and welcoming environment for their LGBT employees, and prospective employees, not just during Pride month, but all year round.
