End of Year Founder's Message

Wow, what a year!

At the start of the year, we quickly learned that creating Diversity Equity & Inclusion + Allyship programs wasn’t as ubiquitous in the various corporate organizations that previously gave statements of support. Xposure sought to close this gap and help companies and individuals create equitable, safe spaces, and guidance on how to ensure their teams felt seen, heard and valued. We partnered with Channel Futures and ACW who included our members on their main stages to discuss the importance of DE&I+A in our industry. Others like Avant, Intelisys, Telarus and Telecom for Change helped us grow affinity within our industry!

Xposure was created out of the spirit of Sankofa, a Ghanaian word that literally means to “retrieve.” Xposure’s mission embodies this by reaching back into our communities and bringing others forward which seemed fitting for an industry like ours where our journeys here aren’t one traveled through a college degree’d program. This year, Xposure members leaned into our mission by intentionally impacting our communities around the nation! In the Texas DFW area members organized an Earth Day clean up within the community where over 15 people from outside our industry joined us in our efforts. On a virtual front, our webinars, safe spaces, and community discussions gave us a platform to make connections globally through meaningful conversations.

We had a ton of firsts this year:

  1. First main stage panel discussion at Channel Partners Vegas with all multicultural panelists where not 1, not 2 but 3 Black Women conversed on the impact of DE&I+A programs in corporate spaces

  2. Over 20 of our members received DE&I leader nominations from Channel Futures

  3. Added 3 New Board Members

Most importantly we helped to keep the accountability and conversations around DE&I+A programming going. I’d be remiss if I didn’t say this year didn’t have its challenges in communicating effectively and efficiently with our members! With that being said, our board has committed the end of the year to evaluating our foundation so that we can provide a better experience in 2023!

Thank you for your continued engagement and support of our community! We look forward to continued community engagement and education in the new year!
